The car

My current training car is a Renault Clio Mk5 Play TCe 100 - a modern, safe, and confidence-building vehicle perfectly suited to learner drivers.

The Renault Clio Mk5 is well known for its light, responsive steering, comfortable driving position, and excellent visibility, helping new drivers feel relaxed and in control from their very first lesson. With a fully adjustable seat and steering wheel, learners of all heights can quickly find a safe and comfortable driving position.

Ideal for Learner Drivers

The Clio’s clear, easy-to-read dashboard, featuring large digital and analogue speed displays, makes it simple to monitor speed and vehicle information without distraction.

Its compact size also makes parking, manoeuvring, and town driving far less intimidating - essential skills for passing the driving test and driving independently.

Driving lessons take place on a variety of roads in and around Peterborough, where the Clio’s smooth handling and modern driver-assistance features really shine.

Safety & Driver Assistance

For added peace of mind, my Renault Clio is fitted with the industry-leading He-Man dual control system, giving me full control of the brake and clutch should the need arise. This provides extra reassurance while maintaining a calm, supportive learning environment.

Key safety and driver-assist features include:

• Driver and Passenger Airbags
• Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS)

• Distance Alert - Clearly shows the gap to the vehicle ahead using colour indicators.
• Lane Departure Warning & Lane Keeping Assist - Alerts you if you drift and gently assists steering if required.

• Cruise Control & Speed Limiter - Helps maintain a safe, legal speed.
