About me

Hi, I'm James, a fully qualified Government Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) in Peterborough, specialising in calm, patient manual driving lessons designed to build confidence from day one.

Before becoming an instructor, I spent over 20 years working at John Lewis in Peterborough. When the store closed in 2021, it gave me the opportunity to retrain for something extremely rewarding and satisfying - helping people gain confidence and independence through driving.

John Lewis is renowned for putting the customer first, and that ethos was instilled in me from day one. The same commitment to exceptional service that I brought to the shop floor now shapes every driving lesson I deliver. My pupils aren't just learners - they're people who deserve patience, respect, and a genuinely supportive experience every time they get behind the wheel. I'm known for being calm, approachable, and extremely patient, and those qualities help create an environment where learners feel relaxed and confident from the very first lesson.

I trained with Learner Driving Centre (LDC) and use the LD System, a flexible, client-centred approach. Lessons are tailored around you - your pace, your goals, and the way you learn best - so you're always actively involved in your progress.

Driving Lessons for All Levels

Whether you're a complete beginner, feeling nervous behind the wheel, returning to driving after a break, or preparing for your practical test, lessons are designed to be relaxed, supportive, and focused on building safe, lifelong driving skills.

Additional Driving Courses Available

Alongside standard lessons, I also offer Pass Plus for developing advanced post-test driving skills, dual carriageway and motorway lessons for building confidence on faster roads, and refresher lessons ideal for nervous or returning drivers.

Outside of work, I enjoy swimming, days out, music festivals (I've been to Glastonbury seven times!), and beach holidays - preferably somewhere hot and sunny.
